Welcome
Thank you for visiting the Philadelphia Center web site!
Established in the spring of 1990, we are a non-profit 501(c)3
community service organization dedicated to providing HIV/AIDS education information,
and support to Northwest Louisiana.
Content Disclaimer
The week before June 27th the Philadelphia Center will
partner with other agencies in our community to celebrate
National Testing Day. These events are
presented in the hopes of stressing the importance of everyone in our community
knowing their HIV status. If you think you know yours or aren't sure we
urge you to stop by and find out for sure.
On July 30th at Horseshoe Casino and Hotel's Riverdome we
will host our Annual Auction Against AIDS. To support, what has become,
the largest event of its kind in our state contact Sam Wilkes at 222-6633 ext.

What We Believe
Philadelphia Center's mission is to:
-
Provide support services
for people who have Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or have contracted
the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), the virus that causes AIDS.
-
Prevent the spread of HIV
by educating the public with regard to how HIV is contracted and how its transmission
may be avoided.
-
Improve the quality of
life for all people affected by HIV/AIDS regardless of race, color, religion,
gender, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, political beliefs, financial
status or any other non-meritorious basis.
Who We Serve
Philadelphia Center serves all people infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. While
the majority of the people we serve are HIV positive, we provide services for
people impacted in any way by this disease.
