Mercy Center
Mercy Center is a permanent supportive housing program
designed to give homeless people with HIV/AIDS a long-term therapeutic living
environment in which to solve some of the basic issues which keep them from
living on their own in the community. Mercy Center provides housing, food,
personal essentials, mental health counseling, and substance abuse counseling.
Throughout 2002, 20 individuals were housed at the Mercy Center. Without the
Mercy Center, these individuals would have been homeless on the street.
Due to a grant received from the
Community Foundation of Shreveport-Bossier
construction is under way to add 4 new beds available at Mercy Center.
